from Denver (Colorado) USA is the new Miss Intercontinental 2011.
After 17 years the Miss Intercontinental crown goes again to a contestant from the USA! After Kimberly Byers from Los Angeles / USA the crown goes once more to the Unites States of America.
On Friday 7th October 2011 Live from the Teatro Circo Orihuela (Alicante) the 20 year old Jessica Hartman was crowned the new Miss Intercontinental.
The pageant started just after eight o'clock with the sounds of the Cantabrian pop group Hevia after which the three presenters, Mercedes Ortega, Mary and James Abradelo Ugarte explained in a well done mix of Castilian and English how the evening would unfold.
In a colorful show with spanish No 1 Singer, born in Venezuela Carlos Baute, as well as Flamenco Artist Rafael Armago and others, the 60 contestants performed on Stage in National Dresses, Swimsuits in the "iberian" colors and in Evening Gowns.
After 2 1/2 hours Jessica received the most expensive crown in the beauty industry named "Holly Water" from last years winner Maydelise Columna (Puerto Rico) who had a tremendous year in Germany and is now facing a new chapter in returning to her University to finish her studies.
Broadcasted by the Mediapro Group from Madrid, the show was aired in over 30 countries and also in the national spanish channel Telecinco.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary, for the very first time the Top 15 have been elected by the international Jury in groups of 3 winners from each continent. Same procedure was for the Top 5, just one winner, the best elected by the judges from each continent came into the Top 5.

Miss Intercontinental USA, Jessica Hartman from Denver (Colorado) was announced the new Miss Intercontinental 2011 live from the Teatro Circo.
The 40th Annual “MISS INTERCONTINENTAL® Pageant” was broadcast live by Mediapro and for Spain on Telecinco.
Miss Intercontinental USA, Jessica Hartman, got 2nd runner up during the Miss USA pageant held in Las Vegas. The 20 year-old model and figure skating coach enjoys modelling and travelling.
Mercedes Ortega, Mary and James Abradelo Ugarte hosted the “2011 MISS INTERCONTINENTAL®
Pageant.”
Spanish No-1 singer Carlos Baute, Flamenco Dance Star Rafael Amargo, and former "The Platters" Soul Singer Keith Tynes performed.
The honorable Jury who decided the fate of this year’s winner included: Loredana Salanta, Top Model of the World from Romania; Dr. Yasar Sarigül famous Author and Plastic Surgeon; Elena Ivanova, Miss Intercontinental 1991; Soul Singer Keith Tynes; and Maydelise Columna, Miss Intercontinental 2010.
Throughout the two and half-hour event, contestants from nearly 61 countries around the world
competed in three categories: evening gown, swimsuit and question round.
Miss Intercontinental 2010, Maydelise Columna from Puerto Rico, crowned her successor at the conclusion of the fabulous show primetime televised.
